Top companies that will make your beach visit to the Hammock Coast easy-peasy

Taking a trip to South Carolina’s Hammock Coast beaches is all about the “Three Rs”: rest, relaxation and rejuvenation.

But if lugging chairs, umbrellas, coolers and a host of other items down to the sand is a task you’d rather avoid, we have several locally owned companies – all members of the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce – that can make your trip to the beach a little easier and a lot more fun.

First up, who doesn’t love to have a fire on the beach? Everyone, right? But it can also be a chore. You lug wood or portable fire pits – not to mention, large buckets – down to the shore. You also have to clean it up when the last flame goes out.

No worries. Just give the folks at Coastal Bonfire Co. a call. The staff offers chairs, fire pits, and even S’Mores! Your fire on the beach can enjoyed by for the whole family or even for a special occasion, such as a pre-wedding party or a birthday.

This is how the company explains it: “We specialize in creating upscale beach events, with eclectic furnishings, picture-worthy moments, and a story to tell. Grab a seat in one of our comfortable lounges, snuggle up to a smokeless fire, and s’more the night away. Just relax – we do all the work for you.”

Whatever the occasion, Coastal Bonfire can light it up! The company serves the Murrells Inlet and Litchfield Beach areas of the Hammock Coast.

It’s not hard to know what this company does. It’s literally in its name: Seaside Chairs & Umbrellas!

The company serves the Pawleys Island and Litchfield areas, as well as Debordieu Colony just north of Georgetown.

You can choose from self-service drop-off, where chairs and loungers are brought to you. Or you can choose premium service that includes daily setup and take down that includes Seaside’s signature red-and-white 7-foot umbrellas.

If you need to fill up your cooler or beach bag with tasty treats and maybe even some wine, look no further than the mainland of Pawleys Island, where you’ll find Little Basket Wine & Gifts, a new wine and gift shop here on the Hammock Coast, and Get Carried Away Southern Market and Takeout, in business for more than a dozen years.

Get Carried Away is famous for its Palmetto Cheese, a special blend of pimento cheese, the South’s favorite spreadable snack. Be sure to get a container at its Pawleys Island market at 10126 Ocean Highway (or at any major grocery chain) and some crackers for a beach treat everyone will love.

At Little Basket, located at , you can pick from a variety of wines – reds, whites, sparkling, rose, orange and more. If you’re looking for a fun vacation activity, ask the folks at Little Basket about their regular wine tastings (advanced tickets required).
