Beginning May 25, United will operate flights between Denver International Airport and MYR on Saturdays. United will be the third carrier to serve the market this summer. Frontier will offer service from Denver to MYR each Saturday beginning May 18, and Southwest, beginning June 8, will offer flights on Saturdays and Sundays. “It is great to see an increase in capacity on the MYR-DEN route,” said Director of Airports Judi Olmstead. “These new flights will better support the growing demand for this popular destination, and we are glad to see even more options for travelers this summer.” For more information or to book a United flight, please visit https://www.united.com/. The airport has more than 50 direct flights, bringing passengers to the Hammock Coast and the region. Lauren Wehrung, air service and business analyst for MYR, said that 3,361,277 total passengers flew into and out of MYR – a record-setting year. “We’re expecting that number to increase in 2024,” Wehrung said. Breeze, the latest airline to serve MYR, was announced in late 2023. In February, Breeze began twice-weekly flights from Providence, Rhode Island to MYR. Starting May 2, Breeze will offer Thursday and Sunday flights between Hartford, Connecticut, and MYR. Additional twice-weekly flights from Tampa, Florida, and Charleston, West Virginia, to MYR will begin on May 10. In addition to Myrtle Beach International Airport, the Hammock Coast is also served by Charleston International Airport and the Georgetown County Airport. “Having access to two major airports to our north and south, as well as the county-owned airport, serves the Hammock Coast well,” said Mark A. Stevens, director of tourism development for the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce. “It gives those traveling to Pawleys Island, Murrells Inlet, historic Georgetown or any of our communities on the Hammock Coast for a beach vacation, a golf trip or special occasion several options.” Myrtle Beach International Airport serves South Carolina’s Hammock Coast.
