“Discover the allure of open-air artistry at these 20 sculpture parks and gardens, nominated by an expert panel as the best across the United States,” said USA Today officials. “These captivating spaces blend the beauty of nature with the ingenuity of human creation, offering visitors a unique journey through large-scale masterpieces set against the backdrop of the American landscape.”

In its nomination for Brookgreen, the USA Today/10Best judges wrote, “Founded in 1931, the 9,127-acre Brookgreen Gardens in Murrells Inlet, South Carolina, is a sculpture garden and wildlife sanctuary containing over 2,000 works by 430 artists. This National Historic Landmark hosts one of the best American figurative sculpture collections in the world.”

Page Kiniry, president of Brookgreen Gardens, said she and her staff are honored that Brookgreen Gardens has once again been selected as a finalist in USA Today’s 10Best contest for Best Sculpture Park.

“This recognition reflects nearly a century of dedication to excellence in American figurative sculpture, as well as the passion and expertise of our entire staff who preserve and elevate this unique combination of art, history, and nature,” she said. “Being included among the top sculpture parks in the country is a meaningful acknowledgment of our mission and the support we receive from visitors near and far. We encourage our community and supporters across the nation to cast their vote and help shine a national spotlight on all that makes Brookgreen Gardens such a special place.”

Mark A. Stevens, director of tourism development for the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce, also urges people to vote for Brookgreen Gardens in this contest.

“We need everyone to vote every day on each of their devices (phone, laptop, etc.) so we can help our local sculpture park be named No. 1,” he said.
