At the heart of the Golfweek Fall Challenge’s enduring appeal are True Blue and Caledonia, sister layouts that are ranked among the nation’s top 100 public courses. Located less than a mile from each other, the Mike Strantz designs offer contrasting yet equally enjoyable experiences.

Caledonia was the legendary Strantz’s first solo design, and it captured the attention of the golf world, earning “Best New Course in America” honors upon its 1994 opening, and its reputation has only grown. The layout plays through a stunning piece of the Lowcountry property, featuring soaring live oak trees draped in Spanish moss and the marshy waters of the Waccamaw Neck.

True Blue offers a different but equally riveting experience. Everything about the sprawling layout is big – the expansive fairways, gargantuan waste bunkers, undulating greens and of course, the fun. True Blue’s combination of creativity and challenge have made it one of America’s premier public golf courses.

Both courses belong to the 12-member alliance known at the Hammock Coast Golf Trail.
