Here are the 5 delicious Hammock Coast desserts you really must try

Come on, admit it.

You have a sweet tooth.

We all enjoy a great dessert, especially when we are on vacation.

Fortunately, South Carolina’s Hammock Coast is the perfect place to satisfy your craving for a delectable dessert. If you are looking for something sweet on your next trip, here are five tasty treats you need to try:

The Hushpuppy Sundae at Drunken Jack’s on the MarshWalk in Murrells Inlet. (Photo by Chris Rogers/Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce)

● If you want a little Southern flair to accompany your sugar intake, the Hushpuppy Sundae at the iconic Murrells Inlet restaurant Drunken Jack’s is a must. The dish consists of crumbled hushpuppies served over premium vanilla ice cream and finished with strawberries and whipped cream. Does it sound weird? Or does it sound delicious? Either way, you’ve got to try it, and you can thank us later.

The Meyer Lemon Tart is a signature dessert at Bistro 217 in Pawleys Island.

● The Meyer Lemon Tart at Bistro 217, complete with vanilla ice cream, pistachio toffee and limoncello sauce, is a dessert lover’s dream. It’s different – have you ever had pistachio toffee before? – and that has helped make it one of the Pawleys Island eatery’s most popular desserts. If you are looking for something a little more traditional, Bistro’s flight of homemade ice creams is outstanding, as well.

At bisQit in Pawleys Island, your milkshake can get spiked. Yeah, you gotta try it!

● Can’t decide between dessert and a post-dinner drink? Have both at bisQit. Located in the same shopping district as the Original Hammock Shop, bisQit serves a quartet of “Spiked Shakes” that offer a little warmth with your ice cream. The recommendation here is for “Kentucky Cowboy,” which includes Four Roses Bourbon, cold extract coffee, maple syrup and crumbled bacon. It’s the best of both worlds.

The Strawberry and Creme Mille Feuille is a star on the dessert menu at the MarshWalk’s newest restaurant, Neptune’s Bistro & Raw Bar.

● Neptune’s Bistro & Raw Bar is the newest edition to the MarshWalk lineup, and its dessert offerings are the perfect way to cap an outstanding meal. You will be tempted by several choices, but don’t pass on the Strawberry and Creme Mille Feuille, which features layers of crispy phyllo dough filled with house-made strawberry jam and a vanilla bean creme, topped with creme anglaise, fresh strawberries and mint.

Roasted Banana and Chocolate Bread Pudding is your decadent Southern comfort food at Rustic Table in Pawleys Island.

● Rustic Table is one of our favorites, serving Southern comfort food, and the Roasted Banana and Chocolate Bread Pudding, topped with vanilla ice cream, is the perfect complement to any meal.

Everyone deserves a great dessert, and the Hammock Coast provides a plethora of options.
