Birding Festival Accommodations

Hammock Coast accommodations partners have provide discounted or special rates or have set aside a block of rooms only for those registered for the Hammock Coast Birding Festival. Those partners are listed below. All of these accommodations are in the Pawleys Island-Litchfield Beach-Murrells Inlet areas of Georgetown County, which is the area where we highly recommend that you stay as this will be the most centrally located area for all festival excursions and events. Staying to the north in Myrtle Beach is not recommended, as it will add considerable time to your driving times. Brookwood Inn, Murrells Inlet

The Brookwood Inn is a nostalgic Murrells Inlet landmark, first opened on New Year’s Day 1950. This classic Americana motor lodge is nestled on four acres of Lowcountry heaven, presenting visitors with a rare reflection of simpler times. Massive moss-draped live oaks, magnolia trees, camellias and azaleas offer guests a unique setting to relax and enjoy the peace and tranquility famous in Murrells Inlet. This classic motor Inn was added to the National Register of Historical Places in 2017. The Brookwood Inn is located in the heart of the historic fishing village of Murrells Inlet, part of the beautiful area known as South Carolina’s Hammock Coast®. It is within walking distance of fantastic restaurants, live entertainment, and Morse Park, and just a short drive from Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park, the MarshWalk, Crazy Sister Marina, fresh-off-the-boat seafood, birding, fishing, golfing, and more. Owners Julie and Rob Perez are offering attendees of the Hammock Coast® Birding Festival a 10 percent discount off published rates for a 3-night stay and for those who’d like to extend their trip, a 15 percent discount for 4 nights or longer.  Valid Jan. 31, 2025-Feb. 13, 2025.

Hampton Inn, Litchfield community of Pawleys Island

This hotel in the Litchfield community of Pawleys Island is centrally located on the Hammock Coast. Rooms include a complimentary breakfast. General Manager Wendy Jones has set up a special rate for those attending the Hammock Coast Birding Festival. For any dates between Feb. 5-10, festival attendees can book rooms for the rate of $139-$149, plus tax, per night. You should call the hotel directly at 843-235-2000 and ask for the Hammock Coast Birding special rate. Hampton Inn Pawleys Island is only minutes from Brookgreen Gardens, Huntington Beach State Park and the beaches of the Hammock Coast – and directly down the street from the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce office, where you will pick up your welcome packets. Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort, Litchfield community of Pawleys Island

Welcoming guests for the past seven decades, the Litchfield Beach and Golf Resort is made up of myriad vacation homes and condos. Resort amenities include a restaurant, bar, Starbucks, an indoor pool and more. Centrally located in the Litchfield Beach area of Pawleys Island, the resort is located just behind the Georgetown County Chamber of Commerce office at 28 Wall Street, which serves as headquarters for the Birding Festival. General Manager Andrew Maffei is offering special February rates at oceanfront condos, lakeside condos, beach homes, water-view homes and even golf accommodations. You also can add a buffet breakfast at the resort’s Coastal Dish restaurant to some reservations. Ask for details. South Carolina’s Hammock Coast® has myriad accommodations available — beachfront homes and condos, marsh view condos and homes, hotels, bed and breakfasts, and more. You name it, we have it. We do recommend you stay in the Pawleys Island, Litchfield Beach, Murrells Inlet areas, as this is centrally located to many of the activities especially Friday and Saturday evening dinners. It is not recommend that you stay to the north in the Myrtle Beach area, as that will put you much too far out from activities and tours.
