26 Feb Breeze Airways adds more serving the Hammock Coast A popular airline that serves the South Carolina Hammock Coast® is making travel to and from the area even more convenient. Breeze Airways has added two more seasonal routes connecting Myrtle Beach International Airport (MYR) to Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, and Portland, Maine. The airline is also expanding existing services from MYR to Akron-Canton, Ohio, Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Long Island, New York. (Photo courtesy of Breeze Airways) Beginning today, Hammock Coast travelers can book flights on Breeze from and to: Akron-Canton, Ohio, (existing route increasing to daily beginning July 1); Fort Lauderdale, Fla., (existing route increasing to six times weekly beginning July 1); New York/Islip, N.Y., (existing route increasing to four times weekly on Mondays, Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays beginning July 1); Pittsburgh, Pa. (nonstop on Mondays and Fridays starting July 3); and Portland, Maine (one-stop, no-change-of-plane BreezeThru service starting July 2). “We’re thrilled to see Breeze Airways continue its strong investment … with new nonstop service to Pittsburgh and a same-plane BreezeThru flight to Portland beginning July 2 and 3,” said Judi Olmstead, director of airports at MYR. “Pittsburgh is one of our most popular markets, and this new nonstop will be a welcome addition for both residents and visitors.” Portland becomes the farthest northeast destination served by MYR, Olmstead said, opening the door to even greater connectivity to and from Maine and New England. “With these additions and expanded service across its 13 existing markets, Breeze’s growth underscores its confidence in our community and its commitment to providing convenient, affordable travel options for our residents and travelers,” Olmstead added.
