Food, Beer and Wine Festival returns May 4 to Georgetown on the Hammock Coast®

Local restaurants, microbreweries, and wine distributors will offer their best selections for the second annual Georgetown Food, Beer & Wine Festival in Georgetown on South Carolina’s Hammock Coast®.

Organized by the Georgetown Business Association, the event will be held on Saturday, May 4, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on historic Front Street, between Screven and Broad streets. Admission is free. Food, beer and wine tickets will be available for $2 each.

The event will also include live music, arts and crafts vendors and a kids’ zone with inflatables, face painting and clowns. A portion of the proceeds will support Friendship Place, a local charity that helps less fortunate people in the community.

“Restaurants from the area will be out in full force providing small plates of their best dishes along with competing for the ‘best of’ series for the second annual event as celebrity judges recognize the top eateries from up and down the coastline,” said Susan Brannen, a member of the GBA.

Local craft breweries and award-winning wines will be available at Maritime Park. A Kid’s Zone and musical talent, performing on two 2 stages, will provide entertainment throughout the day celebrating Georgetown.

“This year there will be an expanded Beer Garden with an increased number of craft brew selections,” she said. “Next door, check out a wine tasting area with Sommeliers on hand to discuss the selections, offering robust red, white, and sparkling wines to choose from.”

There will also be a Kentucky Derby Party in the Beer Garden from 4 to 7 p.m.

“Stroll down Front Street and visit with local artisans,” Brannen said. “We will have additional space this year to showcase the best our talented community has to offer and look forward to embracing the wonderful craftsmanship everyone brings to the event.”

South Carolina’s third oldest city, Georgetown is home to more 200-year-old buildings than Charleston, and historic Front Street, located along the water and home to series of charming shops and restaurants, is the town’s heartbeat and boasts five popular museums. Georgetown is once again in the running to be named “Best Coastal Small Town” by USA Today/10Best. The historic municipality won the award in 2018 and has been nominated again each year since.

Art & Wine Walk

Another fun event to be held on Front Street in Georgetown is the Art & Wine Walk. With exhibits ongoing in Front Street venues through June 22nd, the Georgetown Art & Wine Walk will be held on Saturday, June 15, and Sunday, June 16, 2024. Visitors are invited to enjoy living & interactive art displays, juried 2D and 3D art and photography and digital art exhibits, an open-air art fair, kids’ art projects, local artists painting live, and live music. On Saturday evening, join in the Art & Wine Walk, a wine-tasting event at various venues.
